information technology

Since 2010 St Monica's College has provided a device for all students in Years 7-12. Our goal is to provide students with those tools which enable them to be confident users of technology so that they will improve their learning outcomes: learning outcomes first and devices second.

Notebook Program

Students receive laptops for their own personal use at school and at home firstly upon entry in Year 7 and again at the commencement of Year 10 to ensure they have reliable devices for the full 6 years of their secondary schooling.

Wireless Network

All laptops have access to a high speed Cisco wireless network, which enables students and teachers to access network and internet resources from anywhere on either campus.

Teaching Resources

All teaching staff have been provided with a Notebook computer for use in integrating Information Communication Technologies (ICT) in the curriculum. All class rooms have data projectors installed so staff can provide delivery of teaching and learning using digital resources. A dedicated E-Learning department is available to staff and students for training in the use of ICT resources and assistance in the development of digital resources. This means that St Monica’s College has a strong platform for the implementation of ICON – the Integrated Catholic Online Network. And finally, St Monica’s College remains committed to the use of cloud technologies to provide for an anywhere, anytime access to learning resources through the use of learning management systems such as Google Classroom, Office 365, Moodle and other systems.
